300: neighborhood walk / hike

I am lucky enough to be able to count bluffs as being within "my neighborhood," though it takes a fair walk to reach any of them. Closest is College Hill, which essentially takes little to climb: a slow rise through the streets of downtown, then a handful of sudden staircases that wore me out, my jeans sodden in the 69% humidity of this holiday. We were able to spot the preparations for tonight's festivities--the band shell has just been built in town, and lawn chairs were beginning to half circle the stage, the smell of popcorn and barbeque filling the air.

Happy 4th of July, all! Last year, we had some fun with neighbors; this year, we're making jerk pork chops and thinking of tomorrow's hike in Frontenac.
