5: Jay Cooke State Park

Thanks for sticking through to the end. If I were to list my faults, I think "inability to moderate" would be at the very top. I'd be a terrible gambler, always going "all in." I'll bake you a cake, if you really really looked at all of the photographs--how's that? (94 of them, if I counted right... put a note in the comments as to which one was your favorite, and I'll do a random drawing... the winner will receive a set of Alaska postcards! You'll also be helping me out... I'm thinking about another postcard set. Camping? The woods? Not sure what the theme will be!)

See other photo series (which are much more brief than this; I had a thousand photos to wade through) :: Frontenac :: Hay Creek II :: Barn Bluff :: Afton State Park :: Hay Creek :: Como Conservatory :: Everyday :: Hibernation Meditation ::

See the rest of the Jay Cooke camping pictures here. It was a beautiful camping experience, and though I promised myself to visit all seventy-ish Minnesota state parks (before I die), I definitely hope to return to this one. With something like fifty miles of trails, there is plenty more to explore. Let's just leave the ticks out of this one, OK?

PS: Oh, and no cropping, no Photoshop. I'm not clever enough to fancy it up like that. I plan to learn how. Someday.

what should I be doing right now? writing a lit review. What am I doing? Getting all caught up in your awesome pictures! My favorites are always the critter ones, but for postcards:
4731,4899,4984,5033,5276,5290,
5363,5409,5411,5434,5512

(hopefully you can find those?) And I don't want to be placed in the drawing, I really like your pictures!

I was going to say the morel also. But since someone else said that, then the frog. Wonderful photos.

there are too many to choose just one favorite! you know i love the morel one, but also the other mushroom ones- with the cluster growing off the side of the tree and the fallen log with the redish lichen/moss growing. these are all so beautiful molly! glad you had a good trip.

also- that one of you and ryan is really beautiful (probably not for a postcard, but for a frame in your home!)

I couldn't possibly choose just one favorite, but I like that one of the birch (?) bark at the top, and that one of the moss further to the bottom. They are all lovely, though. It sounds like it was lots of fun. Our camping trip last weekend was super hot and muggy and then super rainy.
