I've seen pictures of babies being born before, I've even seen it on the "baby story" but it is stunning to see Kelly and Richard with a baby. Your pictures are amazing, and bravo to Kelly for pushing him out! A baby! I look forward to meeting him.
so gorgeous molly. what a wonderful honor for you to document this new life and how lucky kelly and richard are to have your beautiful photos of christian. i was going to comment on some of the photos over on flickr, but they were too overwhelming- the sheer number of them. but they are beautiful.
I will say it: some babies are ugly, especially immediately after they come into this crazy world. But Christian is adorable. From first picture. He doesn't have that weird squishiness or the all-over body hair or anything else I've seen. Having a beautiful mother must really help :-).
You've captured the essence of "family" so perfectly. They are so special: the holding hands, Bonnie showing Kelly how to feed, and Richard clutching him in every photo afterwards :)
And of course Christian's adorable little tiny face.
Things I love: poetry and precise words, kitchen gardens, wildflowers, photography, the natural world, walking in the woods, geography and culture and a sense of place, thunderstorms, yoga, letterpress artwork, knit objects, earth tones, chai tea, little birds, the ocean, wool, thick books to get lost in, ecotones and diagrams, sheep and llamas and goats, handwritten letters, the body (mine and yours).
